Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. A noble, elegant wine with an excellent structure. Its production area is limited to the municipality of Montalcino, in the province of Siena, which contributes to making it an exclusive and sought-after wine. Its origin dates back to the 19th century, when Ferruccio Santi selected and vinified grapes of a Sangiovese varietal known locally as “Brunello” because of the dark colour of its berries. Over the years, this wine has confirmed its value, becoming distinguished, among other things, by its long evolutionary path. During the significant ageing period, Brunello di Montalcino Piccarda Donati slowly absorbs the aromas and perfume from the wooden barrels and barriques in which it spends long months resting. A wine of outstanding longevity and elegance, it reveals itself slowly, improving as time goes by. The label illustration is the result of a collaboration with the Japanese artist Tetsuji Endo, who has lived in Tuscany for many years. The title of the work is Saggezza III (Wisdom III). The tree represents the wisdom of mankind while the maze represents the constant search for a better existence. Technique: Chinese ink, pencil and watercolour on paper. Ageing of the paper using different techniques.
